song for the blonde-haired siren

a poem

it's that simple,

look me in the eyes a second more than you'd intended to and my heart and soul is yours.

let your fingers brush upon my shoulder and i'll turn to nectar, dripping from your tongue.

i am loved but i am cursed.

you are loved but i am cursed.

i want to be buried in the sand which falls from every crease and fold of your skin, to rest among the salt that clings to your hair and the corners of your lips.

i can build a home here,

you gave me permission with your two front teeth, as you emerged from the sea grinning at no one but me.
